I like Kamaiyah because she is unapologetically “fat”, brown skin beauty, wears box braid singles ( cues: Poetic Justice) and represents tomboy chic. She is laid back, bossy and a West Coast gangsta.

Kamaiyah, the “F$%* it up” rapper, is creating and riding her own wave in this Hip Hop industry. With a unique voice and perspective on the tales and experiences of an ambitious dark-skinned woman from a historically impoverished East Oakland. She owns the narrative from “rags to riches.”

Unlike some of her musical peers, she focuses on the grind to achieve her dreams, demands respect from her man and doesn’t promote drug use. I think that is real and rare in Hip Hop today.

Boss Chick music is always needed – it’s timeless.
